Terms of Booking - StarSoundz

(The term "promoter" refers to the person who has made the booking and the terms “company” and “DJ” refer to anyone from StarSoundz Disco.)

1. The Disc Jockey (DJ) and his assistant will conduct themselves in a sober and proper manner and will respond to the promoter(s) requests as to volume, situations of equipment and any other reasonable requests, providing they do not breach any health and safety laws.

2. The promoter will ensure adequate access to the performance area and make available parking spaces for two cars close to the venue at no charge to the company.

3. The promoter will allow adequate time for the equipment to be set up at the start of the performance (1 hour minimum) as well as time to dismantle and remove the equipment at the end of the performance (45 minutes minimum). Less time will be required for karaoke and sing-along events.

4. The company reserves the right for the DJ to bring along an assistant DJ to aid with the set-up and to provide relief cover for the main DJ during the event so that there is no break in the performance.

5. The promoter will provide adequate supervision of all guests/employees at the function.

6. The company shall be in no way held responsible for any breaches of covenants, regulations, by-laws and conditions under which any premises or properties leased, hired or entrusted to the promoter are subjected. The promoter must be entitled to use the venue for the purposes of the event.

7. In the event of the promoter wishing to cancel a booking, any deposits paid will be retained by the company. Cancellations cannot be made less than 30 days in advance unless the full agreed fee accompanies the cancellation. Cancellations must be confirmed in writing.

8. Should StarSoundz be prevented from attending the performance due to circumstances outside their direct control (including but not limited to sickness, mechanical breakdown, and equipment failure) the company shall not incur any liability for its non-appearance. In the event of StarSoundz failing to appear for reasonsother than stated above, every attempt will be madeby the company to supply a substitute DJ or mobile disco for the venue. Should the company fail to make alternative satisfactory arrangements, StarSoundz shall be liable to compensate the promoter up to an amount not exceeding 150% of the agreed fee.

9. An earthed supply of 30amps is always required at any venue. Please do not cut corners where electricity is involved, as your guests' safety is your responsibility.

10. As you can appreciate, it is not practical for DJs to carry every record ever issued. Please note that StarSoundz always carry popular, well known, commercial hit records from the 1950s up to present day charts for a non-themed disco. Therefore if a request is made that the DJ cannot fulfill, no compensation or reimbursing of the promoter shall be applicable. If you require an obscure or specialist track then please request it at the time of booking, or supply a copy of to the DJ at the start of the function to avoid disappointment.

11. The promoter shall permit the company to display its advertising material at the venue (eg leaflets, business cards).

12. StarSoundz are unable to provide a disco for any open air event.

13. To prevent interference with smoke alarms at the venue, StarSoundz do not condone the use of smoke machines and therefore this facility will not be avaiable..

14. StarSoundz do not use strobe lighting effects but, as with all discos, please be aware that bright lighting is used.
